You are stuck. It is a terrible feeling and you want to do something, anything, to get out of this rut of stuck-ness.

Anything is possible, however, being stuck for a brief period of time will not kill you. Think of this as an opportunity to change up your life a bit.

Being stuck or trapped is temporary unless you give in to it.

Design a different life for yourself first, then see how long this suck-ness lasts.

First, check in with your body. What is it telling you? Are you tired, apathetic or do you just feel unable to function?

Then start by moving; move around your office, get up out of that chair, turn off your computer and look outside the nearest window.

Spend a few minutes observing outdoor life, take a deep breath, and go back to your work.

Then check in with your brain. Is your brain focused on sadness from your past? What is going on in your life today that makes you look into your past, especially the sad parts?

Why is your mind going there?

You can adjust this perspective by reading a book. Reading a book takes you out of your own life into the story of someone else.

Any book will do for now. Just stay out of your own head for a while.

Now, check in with your heart. Who do you love? Cal them right now and let them know you are stuck and you thought of them. Whoever you call will most likely be kind (right?)

A little kindness goes a long way, especially when it comes from someone you trust
