Barbara Rubel is a nationally recognized speaker on issues related to compassion, fatigue and vicarious trauma. The third edition of But I Didn’t Say Goodbye: Helping Families After a Suicide, just launched. She’s the author of a 30-hour continuing education course book, Loss, Grief, and Bereavement. Barbara co-wrote the Department of Justice, Office for Victims of Crime Training Curriculum, Compassion Fatigue/Vicarious Trauma. Her story was featured in the Emmy award-winning Documentary, Fatal Mistakes, narrated by Mariette Hartley. Barbara taught undergraduate and masters level courses at Brooklyn College. She received a BS in Psychology and Masters in community health. Barbara is a Board-Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress, and Diplomate with the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress.
