“In the Buddhist tradition, compassion and love are seen as two aspects of the same thing: Compassion is the wish for another being to be free from suffering; love is wanting them to have happiness.” – The Dalai Lama.
Today is a good day to be compassionate with yourself and others.
You do not want to suffer or be fearful and neither should you want others to be harmed or fearful. Many people are struggling with their self-love as well as love for others. How can you do this?
First, consider being kind to yourself first. You cannot help someone else if you come from an empty well, so revive compassion for yourself. You come first here people.
Second, listen to what others have to say. Most people frame a response to the other person; therefore, they are not listening to what the other person is saying. Listen. Focus on listening to others. Listen to how they are feeling.
Third, stop judging yourself and others, at least for one day. Remain mindful of your thoughts and when you see you are in Judge Judy mode, pull back.
It is always a good day to be kind, just give this day a little extra kindness, to yourself first and then, to others.
